Quality education in the Northern part of Ghana is a major problem. The majority of people cannot attend basic education due to the extreme poverty experienced in this part of the country. The majority of the parents are peasant farmers who can barely afford the provision of school materials to ensure their wards have quality education. This among other factors has led to the low literacy levels in that part of the country. One of the goals of the Nevalak Foundation is to provide Basic schools in the Northern Region of Ghana with study materials to help improve the level of education in the region.
